Post Fuel and ECU upgrades
Hi guys, I’m new on here an not at all mechanically minded!
I own 2 Satria gti’s one is 2000 an the other is 2004.
The 2004 isn’t as quick an has throttle lag, what is the best ECU upgrade an fuel rail/intake setup I could go for?
Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Hello and welcome.

Depends on the 2004’s setup , is the engine bay the same as the 2000? Later Gti’s ran map/Vdo Siemens setup which isn’t as good as the earlier MAF (airflow meter) setup.

Thank you, unfortunately it’s the Siemens VDO, what’s the best replacement performance ECU?
I was going to put a 65mm intake I got off a GTO but a friend suggested R1 motorbike carburettor, has anyone ever tried it on a satria gti before?
Thank you for any help possible guys

You'll need to change the engine and interior looms back to the old mitsi/apm ecu type. Fair bit of swapping stuff around but you can improve performance going back to the maf setup.

Similar situation,

Though yes I believe there to be different ECU's between the earlier and later models.

Mines a 51 plate and gone for an Evo GSR one.
Needs going in and fiddling with sooner rather than later! Just got issues with fueling at the mo :(

I have the fuel rail from RPW to go on with some beefed up injectors

Ecu will either be a 1800 GSR or Evo 1-3 or not lol. Evo gsr wasnt used until later evo's.

Is this fitted with the 4g93 turbo setup? Won't work right on n/a , as for injectors na or turbo and what size/type?

I'm using VR4 450cc ones on the tubby setup with it being high compression. GSR 390cc's are normally good enough for standard gsr turbo setup and moving to 510's from evo for evo turbo. Also handy to have an adjustable fuel reg. ;)
